The CBSR Programme has been a core element of the MoES’ strategies as well as over the last two GoL-UNICEF CPs (CP 2012-2016 and CP 2017-2021). The current CP 2017-2021 will undergo its Mid-Term Review (MTR) due in mid-2019, and the MoES will be developing the next ESDP 2021-2025 within 2019-2020. To inform both the CP MTR and the next ESDP, as referred in the CPD costed evaluation plan, MoES and UNICEF have agreed to undertake a formative evaluation on CBSR programme.
 
The key findings and recommendations from the CBSR evaluation will inform for further improvement of the MoES’ relevant (sub)sector policies, strategies and budgets on the ground, including the development of the next ESDP 2021-2025. The findings and recommendations will also provide strategic direction to UNICEF in redefining the CP’s strategic focus through the upcoming MTR, which will guide UNICEF’s support to MoES during the remaining half of the CP period as well as inform the development of the next CP (2022 onwards).
